i know we're not supposed to do it anymore, but i forget why.
it's just that sometimes it would be so satisfying to just give 'em a good, hard whack.
(p.s. never bring your already grouchy two year old to the park for a playdate when you are partially immobile and on crutches.)

I don't think it is technically spanking if your person doesn't actually contact the child. In other words, I think that said fed up mom could arguably explain a little "crutching" from time to time.
Okay, let's expect some interesting comments here ;).
I know what you mean though.
Crutching... that's a good one!!
I have no idea what is wrong with spanking - my BLINDING RAGE has led me to consider it many times.

from upstairs: No, YOU go first, Rosey!
So if someone remembers, tell me, huh? Because there's just this little teeny bit of taboo holding me back....
;)
A spanking is really only an issue if 1) you do it when you are out of control or 2) it isn't deserved. Kids KNOW when they deserve it, and it doesn't bother them that much as long as you don't beat them... (hence the keeping control). But one swat? Sometimes the only way to get their attention.
dear slicy,
may you never, never, never, ever be allowed to reproduce.
I don't know what slicy's deleted comment was, but I do know that he went blind and grew hair on his palms in high school from Spanking. That's all I'm saying.
There is nothing at all wrong with it, if it works for you.
You obviously want whats best for your kids. A smack or two on their hiney will remind them whos in charge.
